Chibi Art: Prices and Process FAQ

I get so many questions about my Chibis, so here is a page to answer most of your FAQs! Believe it or not, my chibis prices have actually been the same since 2019! With the price of everything in the world going up significantly since then, I figured I could at least keep my prices the same! I've done literally hundreds of chibis or more in the last 6+ years, and I strive to improve and get better with every single one!

Human Chibi Characters Price:

Human / Shifter Characters are $75 USD per character. This price includes outfits, as well as hair and even simple animal features like tails or ears or other simple animal features!

 

Intricate wings or complicated armor type outfits might be slightly more of a fee. Simple tattoos are included as well!

Chibi Animals / Other Non-Human Character Prices:

Animals can vary on price depending on what it is. Obviously a cat will be cheaper than say, a dragon! Avg prices for a chibi cat would be around $35, a dragon could be closer to $85+ or more. These are just estimates!

Backgrounds:

Watercolor type backgrounds that are in most of my chibi drawings are included free of charge! They can be in any color or tones you like. Transparent backgrounds are included as well! Backgrounds any more detailed or with big or detailed props like say, a guitar or chairs, etc. are extra and depend on the item needing to be drawn!

Bundles and Optional Merch License:

For bigger orders you can get a bulk/bundle discount, say if you're getting more than 3 chibis at a time or more than 2 images, I can do a discounted rate per-character!

If you plan on selling the images of the chibis on items FOR PROFIT such as swag, mugs, stickers etc. you will need tot get a merch licensee, they are $35 per final image, or even less if your order includes more than one image. You DON'T need one if you're giving the items away or not selling at a profit! You can always decide to get one at a later date as well if you're unsure or not ready to sell yet.

 

Payment Options:

I get payment BEFORE WORK BEGINS, almost always through PayPal. I also use Wise / Transfer Wise for international orders since their fees are significantly lower. I can invoice or you can send direct, or both, I'm okay with either. Sometimes I split payments for larger orders (Over $500), but not always!

 

Wait Times and Process:

You will of course get updates along the way, such as sketches and base colors for your approval! My wait times are usually about 2-3 weeks from booking payment to final image being sent, depending on what all you need of course it could be quicker or longer! I try to do them in order of when they're booked, for fairness!

To Get Started Booking Your Chibis,:

To start your booking, you'll need to compile some info once you've decided what you want! Below is an example of all the info I will ask of you, so be ready to provide it! Of course I will need additional info for animals, or shifter types, props, special backgrounds or any other unique info you need to include! I love details! But here is a rough guide to get started:

I ask that you create a PDF, WORD, DOC, RTF or GOOGLE DRIVE DOC with all the info I need for your commission!

 

Please describe each character in detail, as best you can, including ALL of these requirements, if applicable:

2. AGE

3. EYE COLOR

4. HAIR COLOR AND STYLE

5. SKIN COLOR / ETHNICITY

6. GENDER

7. HEIGHT ESTIMATE

8. PERSONALITY / EXPRESSION

9. BODY TYPE

10. OUTFIT

11. ANYTHING LIKE PIERCINGS / TATTOOS / JEWELRY

12. HOLDING ANY PROPS OF ANY KIND

13. REFS AND INSPO PICS

 

Please include any and all reference or inspiration images for each character, including outfit ideas or anything specific you need, even if it's just a rough idea, and not an exact copy. It helps clarify thing and know what you want.

 

Pose ideas or preferences are really helpful, but not required. Include them if you like.

 

Please compile ALL the info for each image into one doc, for example if you want 2 chibis in one image (a couple) include the character info for both characters into the same doc to keep all the info together. If you want the same characters in more than image / pose, explain at the bottom of the document the different poses and images! Please don't send a separate doc for each character unless you're only getting 1 chibi. Thanks You! - Sarah Jo
